Anita Barone

An actor with many talents who was mostly confined to show-biz sitcoms TV, Anita Barone received her most memorable performance in the medium by playing spouse of Jeff Foxworthy on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," which had a single season on ABC from 1995-96. Barone played on stage for the first time when she was 5 years old in Detroit when her family relocated out of St Louis. By the time she turned 23, Barone had appeared in more than 50 plays. The majority of these were performed in the regional and university theatres. The stage credits she played included Juliet of Romeo and Juliet, Helen Keller in a re-imagining of "Monday after the Miracle" as well as the character of Agnes the young, tormented Nun in "Agnes of the Gods." In 1987, she had a role in a film known as "Ricochet". She also played a character in "The Rosary Murders". Also in 1996, she played the role of the lead actress in an independent romantic comedy called "Just Friends". However, her first Hollywood employment of note was as a member of the company stock of "Carol and Company" (NBC in 1990 and 1991) which was a disastrous plan made by Carol Burnett to revive the comedy variety program. Barone played a part in the"Wounded Heart" USA Network movie, "Wounded Heart". She returned to weekly sitcoms and co-starred in "Daddio", NBC 2000 together co-starring with Michael Chiklis.
