Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father worked as an elementary school teacher, and her mom was an at-home mom. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. From a young age, McCormick enjoyed singing as well as dance. She would also put on puppet shows for youngsters in the area. When McCormick was six years older, she was crowned an award in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency phoned and asked her whether she'd be interested in entering show business. McCormick was offered her first gig as a leading actress in 1964. She starred in an advertisement for Mattels' newest doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year, she starred for another firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was quickly selected for her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the youngest daughter of the three towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The series lasted 5 years. McCormick stated in her 2008 book Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly ended her relationship in the fifth season in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother. The actress was sixteen years old, and the actor 19 at the moment. The two of us could have been in a romance, she said. But the timing wasn't right.
